Opayo Integration(formerly Sage Pay)

The UK's original business payment gateway — still running thousands of checkouts and phone-order systems. We integrate, rescue and migrate Opayo, plus post its settlements into Sage automatically.

Discuss Your Payment Setup

Checkout Integration

Form, Server or PI integration into your website or platform — 3D Secure v2, tokenisation, refunds and voids handled properly.

MOTO & Phone Orders

Mail/telephone order flows — virtual terminal alternatives, agent-assisted payments and repeat-billing setups.

Custom Payment Flows

Subscription billing, split payments, deferred capture, multi-merchant routing — the flows stock integrations don't cover.

Migration to Stripe

Off Opayo without losing customers — PAN export under PCI procedures, rebuilt flows, parallel-running reconciliation.

Rescue & Repair

Broken integrations fixed — 3DS upgrades, TLS deprecations, Form→PI migrations, mystery declines diagnosed.

Opayo → Sage Posting

Settlements and fees auto-posted to Sage 50/200/Accounting — reconciliation without spreadsheets.

When to Stay on Opayo vs Migrate

Stay if

  • ✓ Your rates are negotiated below Stripe's standard
  • ✓ MOTO/phone orders are core to your business
  • ✓ Your acquiring bank relationship is tied to Opayo
  • ✓ It works — just needs proper integration

Migrate if

  • → You need modern tooling — webhooks, SDKs, a real dashboard
  • → Checkout UX is costing you conversions
  • → Subscriptions/dunning are bolted-on and fragile
  • → You're rebuilding the platform anyway

We'll tell you honestly which side of that line you're on — we build for both.

Opayo FAQ

Is Opayo the same as Sage Pay?+

Yes — Sage Pay was sold by Sage and rebranded to Opayo (now Elavon/Opayo). The API surface is largely the same; if your docs say 'Sage Pay', everything here applies.

Which Opayo integration methods do you support?+

Form (hosted redirect — lowest PCI scope), Server (iframe'd hosted fields) and PI/Direct (full API, you handle card data — highest PCI scope). We'll recommend the lightest option that fits your UX needs.

Can you migrate us off Opayo to Stripe?+

Yes — a common job. We migrate stored tokens where possible (Opayo can export PAN data to Stripe under PCI procedures), rebuild payment flows on Stripe, and reconcile both systems during cutover.

Can Opayo transactions post automatically to Sage?+

Yes — separate from the gateway itself, we build reconciliation flows: Opayo settlements matched and posted into Sage 50/200/Accounting with fees split correctly.

Do you fix broken Opayo integrations?+

Yes — we regularly rescue integrations that broke on protocol upgrades (3D Secure v2, TLS changes, the Form→PI migrations). If payments are failing, we can usually diagnose same-day.

Opayo, Done Properly

New integration, broken checkout or a clean exit to Stripe — describe the situation and we'll scope it.
