PrestaShop ↔ Sage 200 Integration
PrestaShopEcommerce platformPrestaShop webservice API, order→SOP sync, stock/price push, multistore handling, carrier/tax mapping — the native e-commerce bridge for Sage 200.
PrestaShop sits alongside Sage 200 as the customer-facing store — shopping cart, product catalog, checkout, payments and order history. It speaks Sage 200 through its webservice API: orders flow in as Sage 200 sales orders (SOP), stock and prices flow out so the storefront never promises what the warehouse can't ship, and carrier/tax mapping lives in one place rather than in 100 spreadsheets. Multi-store handling (different marketplaces or websites under one PrestaShop) works because the sync is at the order level, not the website level — you manage it all from Sage 200. The result is a single source of truth: one price list, one stock figure and one mapping for carriers and taxes across all your PrestaShop stores, while the storefront remains exactly what your customers expect.
Data Flows
- 1
Orders → SOP
PrestaShop orders are the trigger: paid orders become Sage 200 SOP entries via the webservice API. Customer, shipping and payment details map from PrestaShop to Sage 200 analysis codes, delivery terms and payment states — you can keep one customer mapping table for all PrestaShop stores and reuse it for other platforms if you ever move.
- 2
Stock → store
Sage 200 stock quantities and sell prices push out to PrestaShop in near real-time: the store can't sell what you don't have, and price changes in Sage reflect immediately in the storefront. Multi-store inventories sync at the stock item level, not per website, so you only need one stock sync schedule.
- 3
Prices → store
Customer price bands, negotiated prices and quantity breaks from Sage 200 become the authoritative web prices in PrestaShop. If you need separate price bands per marketplace, those live in Sage 200 as analysis codes (per-store codes) and map to PrestaShop websites via a website-level override table.
- 4
Carrier/tax mapping
Sage 200 delivery methods map to PrestaShop carrier codes and VAT/tax codes in a single mapping table — no glue code needed. If you run multiple stores in different jurisdictions, you set the tax codes per website, and each website uses the matching carrier/tax codes from the mapping table. Despatch/tracking flows back via the same API, so the store shows 'shipped' and you keep one order-tracking state.
Where These Integrations Go Wrong
The failure modes we design around — most PrestaShop ↔ Sage projects hit at least two of these.
Multistore inventory confusion
If you treat each PrestaShop website as a separate inventory bucket, you need one per website in Sage 200, and every stock item becomes duplicate across websites. Keep inventory at the warehouse level and map inventory to websites via website-specific stock rules (min/max, allocation) rather than per-website stock levels.
Carrier ≠ delivery method mapping
Sage 200 delivery methods are what you charge for shipping; PrestaShop carriers are what the API bills. The mapping is subtle: you may need to map 'Express' (Sage delivery method) to 'DHL Express' (PrestaShop carrier) and also apply a separate rate table. Get the mapping correct or despatches fail.
VAT by website, not per order
If you have multiple websites in different tax regions, you can set the tax code per website in Sage 200. However, changing the tax code on a customer doesn't automatically apply the correct code to their orders — you need to map customers to the right tax code based on their website's jurisdiction, not just the customer record.
PrestaShop webservice API limits
The PrestaShop API enforces per-page limits and can throttle at 2,000 calls per hour per shop. The stock and price sync needs to run incrementally — not full dump syncs each time. We sync by stock item ID and only pull products with updated timestamps.
What's Included
- PrestaShop order import via webservice API (paid orders to Sage 200 SOP)
- Stock sync out of Sage 200 to PrestaShop (real-time, by stock item)
- Customer and website price-band mapping (one Sage price matrix across all stores)
- Carrier and tax code mapping table (Sage delivery method ↔ PrestaShop carrier/VAT code)
- Multi-website inventory rules (min/max, allocation without duplicate stock levels)
- Despatch/tracking writeback so PrestaShop shows 'shipped' status
Who It's For
Sage 200 businesses selling through PrestaShop who need one system of record: single customer, price and inventory management across one or multiple PrestaShop stores, using native PrestaShop webservice APIs rather than middleware or custom connectors.
FAQ
What if we want to move to Shopify next year?
The PrestaShop integration keeps your Sage 200 data model intact. When you move to Shopify, we just move the same data from Sage 200 to Shopify's APIs — same stock, same price matrix, same mapping tables. The landing leg is identical to the PrestaShop build, just with a different store API.
Can we sell different prices on PrestaShop vs the web store?
Yes — website-level price overrides in Sage 200 (via analysis codes) map to PrestaShop websites separately from your main storefront mapping. For example, a UK website can use VAT rate X, and a US marketplace website uses VAT rate Y, each with their own carrier rates.
What about backorders and out-of-stock handling?
Backorders are either enabled in PrestaShop (based on Sage 200 stock buffer settings) or we auto-allocate from alternate warehouses in Sage 200. If a product is truly out of stock, we either hide it from the store or show an estimated restock date (from Sage 200's planning module).
