Run Sage 50 & 200 Reports Automatically
A report runner for Sage — your standard and bespoke reports, scheduled, parameterised and delivered as PDF, Excel or CSV by email, SharePoint or FTP. Nobody has to open Sage, click through criteria and save the file ever again.
Automate Your Sage ReportsScheduled Runs
Daily, weekly, month-end, quarter-end — each report runs on its own calendar, including 'first working day after month-end' style rules.
Parameterised
Date ranges, departments, cost centres, customer or product filters per schedule. One report definition, many output variants.
PDF, Excel & CSV
Formatted PDF for humans, Excel for analysis, CSV for downstream systems — the same report can emit more than one format per run.
Delivered Where You Need It
Email distribution lists, SharePoint libraries, network shares or FTP drops — recipients get the report, not a Sage login.
Bespoke SQL Reports
When the built-in report can't express what you need — margins, cross-company, multi-year — we write it against the Sage 200 database directly.
Read-Only & Audited
The runner only reads data. Every run is logged — what ran, with which parameters, where it was delivered, and whether it succeeded.
How It Works
Report inventory
You list the reports people currently run by hand — we identify the mechanism each one needs (Sage 200 report, SQL, Sage 50 extract).
Parameterise
Each report gets its schedule and parameter set — dates, filters, output format and destination.
Runner installed
A lightweight service on your server (or hosted alongside your Sage) runs the schedule and logs every execution.
Monitor & extend
Failures alert, successes land silently. New reports slot into the same runner without a new project.
Typical Setups
Month-end pack
Trial balance, P&L by cost centre, aged debtors/creditors and sales-by-rep — run overnight on working day 1, in the FD's inbox before their coffee.
Ops & warehouse
Daily order-backlog, stock-below-minimum and pick-performance extracts pushed as CSV into the WMS or a shared drive for the morning meeting.
Customer-facing reports
Per-customer order history or statement reports generated on request or monthly — branded PDFs, delivered without exposing Sage.
Report Runner FAQ
Which reports can it run?+
For Sage 200: standard and bespoke layouts from the report library, plus SRS/SSRS-style reports and raw SQL queries against the Sage 200 database. For Sage 50: saved report files and ODBC-driven extracts — Sage 50's data model limits what we can parameterise, so we review your report list up front.
Does it need Sage open or a user logged in?+
No. The runner is a service — it talks to the Sage 200 SQL database (and Sage 50 via SDO/ODBC where needed) on a schedule, so reports run at 6am or month-end+1 without anyone opening Sage.
Can reports go to people who don't have Sage?+
Yes — that's the main point. Output goes by email, SharePoint, network share or FTP as PDF, Excel or CSV. Recipients need a mailbox or a folder, not a Sage licence.
What about parameters like date ranges and departments?+
Each schedule carries its own parameter set — this month, last quarter, a cost-centre filter, a customer list. One report definition can run in several parameterised variants (e.g. sales-by-rep, one file per rep).
Is our Sage data safe?+
The runner reads; it doesn't write. Credentials live on your infrastructure, outputs go only where you configure, and every run is logged with a success/failure trail you can audit.
We already have a report that takes 20 minutes in Sage — is this faster?+
Usually. Reports rebuilt as tuned SQL or properly parameterised extracts commonly drop from minutes to seconds, and they run off-hours anyway — so even slow ones stop blocking anyone's day.
Stop Running Sage Reports by Hand
Send us the list of reports your team runs manually — we'll scope which ones the runner takes over and give you a fixed quote.
