WooCommerce PHP Security Updates
A WooCommerce store is a WordPress site where breakage costs money in real time — checkout errors, failed payments, missing orders. We patch or upgrade PHP with the commerce-critical parts tested on staging first.
Store-grade patching · Checkout & payment plugin testing · Backup and rollback
Safe for Revenue
Checkout, cart and payment plugins are tested on a staging copy before anything touches production — a broken store costs more than any patch.
Compliance-Aware
Payment fields are off-limits to us by design: we never need card data, and access is by deploy key or temporary account, not passwords.
Fast Emergency Work
Same or next working day for emergency point releases, queued at the highest priority with commerce hours in mind.
What's Included
Common Scenarios
Store on an Unpatched PHP Version
CVE-2026-109618 and CVE-2026-109619 affect nearly every WooCommerce install until the host's PHP is at a fixed point release.
Checkout Breaks After an Update
A PHP change takes the cart or payment step down. We find the exact plugin, fix or replace it, and re-test the full flow.
Recurring Store Maintenance
Regular patching, plugin checks and a monthly report so PHP updates never happen as a panic.
How a Store PHP Update Runs
£149 Check
We confirm the exact PHP version your store executes on (not just what the panel says), the patch level, and whether CVE-2026-109618/109619 affect it. Plugin and theme inventory is taken at the same time.
Staging Clone of the Store
A full copy of the store — products, orders excluded or anonymised — is built on staging running the target PHP version. Payment gateways are put in test mode so checkout can be exercised end-to-end.
Patch or Upgrade on Staging
PHP is moved to the fixed or supported release. Cart, checkout, payment capture, order confirmation emails and webhooks are exercised; anything broken is repaired or flagged before production is touched.
Production Switch, Low-Traffic Window
The verified change is applied in your quietest trading hours with a tested rollback. Post-change we re-run checkout smoke tests and watch error logs before signing off.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why does WooCommerce cost more than plain WordPress?+
The store has more surface area: payments, shipping, taxes and cart plugins all interact with PHP, and a regression directly loses sales. The maintenance plan is £349/month instead of £299, and the version upgrade is £6,999 instead of £4,999, for the extra testing checkout requires.
Will you have access to my payment data?+
No. We work at the server, PHP and plugin level, and payment processing (Stripe/PayPal) should never be touched for a PHP update. Access is agreed as a deploy key or a temporary account — not your admin password.
Can the store go down while you work?+
The change is applied and verified on staging first. Production changes are brief and scheduled outside your busiest hours where we can; a full backup means we can restore instantly if needed.
Which payment plugins have you tested?+
Stripe for WooCommerce, PayPal Payments, Klarna, Square, GoCardless and the major UK gateways (Opayo, Worldpay). Gateways run in test mode on staging so we exercise real checkout flows without touching live payments.
What happens if a plugin isn't PHP-8.5 compatible?+
We patch it where the fix is small, replace it with a maintained alternative where it isn't, and tell you the cost before doing either. Up to 5 broken items are included in the version upgrade; extras are £95 each, agreed first.
