Data Security & Compliance

Encryption in transit
All traffic between the connector, our hosting and your browser runs over TLS 1.3 with certificate pinning on the agent side. Sage data never crosses an unencrypted link.
UK GDPR & DPA 2018
We act as data processor; you remain data controller. A documented processing agreement covers scope, retention and sub-processors. Subject-access and erasure requests are supported by design — records are traceable per tenant.
No data at rest on our side
The portal is a live view, not a copy — ledger data flows through on request and isn't stored on our servers. That keeps your data-protection footprint (and ours) minimal by design.
Least-privilege access
The connector runs under a dedicated Sage user with only the permissions the integration needs — no full admin credentials. Every remote request is authenticated, tenant-scoped and rate-limited before it ever reaches your Sage installation.
Full audit trail
Every read and write is logged with timestamp, endpoint, actor and outcome. Writes additionally carry idempotency keys — the audit log is exportable for your own compliance records.
UK data residency
Portal and broker infrastructure is hosted in UK/EU regions. No accounting data is transferred outside UK adequacy jurisdictions — relevant for UK GDPR international-transfer clauses in your contracts.
Deployment can also be aligned to your own controls — Cyber Essentials / ISO 27001-aligned environments, customer-managed hosting, or running entirely inside your network with the portal disabled.

What exactly is the connector?+
A small Windows service we install on the machine running Sage 50. It talks to Sage locally (via the official SDK) and exposes a documented HTTPS/JSON API outward — your apps, website and team can query Sage as if it were a modern cloud product.
Does it need firewall changes or a VPN?+
No — the connector makes only outbound HTTPS connections. Nothing inbound is opened, no ports forwarded, no VPN to maintain. It works on office PCs, servers and hosted/RDS Sage setups.
What can the API do?+
Customers, suppliers, invoices, sales orders, products, stock levels, nominals and audit-trail reads — plus validated writes (order posting, payment allocation). Every write is logged and idempotent.
What's the hosted portal?+
An optional web front-end on your subdomain — sage.yourcompany.com or portal.devpros.uk/yourname — for staff, customers or resellers to view invoices, orders and account status without touching Sage directly.
How is this different from Hyperext or Daybook?+
Those are DIY plumbing — you get an API and build everything else yourself. Ours is the finished product: integration built around your workflows, portal included, and we maintain it. If a DIY connector genuinely fits, we'll tell you.
Is our data stored on your servers?+
No — the portal is a live view. Data flows through the connector on request; we don't keep a copy of your ledger. Cached fields (if any) are scoped per-customer and documented.
How does this fit our GDPR obligations?+
You stay data controller; we act as processor under a documented processing agreement. Because nothing is stored on our side and every access is audit-logged per tenant, subject-access and erasure requests stay answerable. Hosting is UK/EU — no transfers outside UK adequacy jurisdictions.
